Homemade almond milk is such a delicious nut milk to have on hand. Unlike the store bought version containing additives and stabilizers my recipe has only five ingredients. Simple to make and if I must confess…not so simple to share with others {wink}.

For my holiday parties this year I plan to serve this creamy nut milk in place of eggnog. Recipe and directions are below.  Enjoy!

Just 5 ingredients!

1 cup of raw unsalted almonds-soaked overnight
4-6 dates- remove seeds and soak for 20 minutes to plump slightly
3 1/2 cups water
1 tsp vanilla (or scrape seeds from a vanilla bean)
1 large pinch of salt

Dump all above ingredients into a blender and blend on high for 60-75 seconds.

Strain in a nut bag which is made for this purpose.

Store in a glass pitcher or mason jar and refrigerate.

Because the milk is very rich and creamy, I serve it in 4-6 ounce glasses.

Place small glasses of almond milk on a pretty tray, add cinnamon sticks and sprinkle some nutmeg for a lovely party drink option.
