Once meat is browned, just added beans and spices.

Tacos are speedy to make and colorful to eat. This dish offers a way to pile lots of fresh vegetables into a meal. My recipe offers an alternative to the taco packet mixes and uses fresh herbs and spices. If you have any of the meat mixture left over it freezes well.

Sauté your ground meat meat in oil until browned. Add the remaining ingredients and stir well.  If mixture is dry add 1-2 tbsp water (a little at time).

Meat
1 lb ground meat (sirloin, turkey or chicken…your choice)-sauté with spices
1-15.5 oz can black beans-drained and rinsed
1-15.5 oz can kidney beans-drained and rinsed
2 tbsp olive oil
2 clove garlic
3-4 tsp chili powder
1-2 tsp cumin (depending on how much of this spice you like)
1/2 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper or red pepper flakes

Time to add the veggies.

Thanks for giving an alternative to packaged taco powder. I love all of those seasonings as well.
